The Icelandic Fencing Federation and the Nordic Sabre Center have the honor to invite you to participate in the Reykjavik International 2010, Men’s & Women’s Junior Sabre Tournaments, Women’s Senior Sabre Tournament and Team Sabre (Mixed), Men’s & Women’s Veteran Sabre and Team Sabre (Mixed), that will take place on the 16th & 17th of January 2010 in the Fencing Center in Laugardal, Reykjavik.

Our tournament is part of the Reykjavik International Games that the city of Reykjavik will for the third time welcome sports participants to a multisport competitions in Laugardalur, the Valley of Sport. Events will include track and field, swimming, swimming for disabled, fencing, gymnastics, dance, badminton, figure skating, bowling and judo.

Reykjavik International Games

The city of Reykjavik will for the third time welcome sports participants to a multisport competitions in Laugardalur, the Valley of Sport, the competition will takw place the 3rd weekend in January 2010. Events will include track and field, swimming, swimming for disabled, fencing, gymnastics, dance, badminton, figure skating, bowling and judo.

All the Venues are located in Laugardalur Sports Valley and the accommodation within walking distance from Laugardalur. All the participants will therefore be close to each other and that is our big advantage. During the weekend there will be an opening ceremony, swimming pool disco and a closing ceremony. Therefore the participants will bring back joyful memories and hopefully great results in our ambitious competition.

The Icelandic fencing Federation is going to organize the Junior, Senior and Veteran Sabre Fencing Tournaments and we would like to invite fencers from your country to take part in this competition.

We intend this visit to be both educational and entertaining for the junior, senior and veteran fencers that participate. For instance on other occasions the swimming pool disco party has been very popular with the younger visitors.
