Our times are as follows:

Friday Evenings (Intermediate/Advanced) 8.00pm - 10.00pm

We mostly fence foil, but can be cajoled into epee

Chilwell Blades welcomes all fencers from age 9 onwards.  Current members include a current Vetarans European Champion, a former Veterans World Championships bronze medallist and a number of current top 100 fencers.

Our main club night is Wednesday, which includes our beginners course and coaching for other members.  Kit is available to use, and we normally have at least 3 electric pistes available.

On Thursday evenings we meet at Harvey Haddon stadium, to give our more experienced fencers some extra practice.  Fencers on Thursdays must have their own equipment, and no coaching is available.

The club is open to both beginners and experienced fencers and visiting fencers or teams from other clubs are always welcome.

Training sessions take place between 8pm and 10pm on Fridays. The club meets in the following terms of the year:

• Autumn/Winter - First Friday in September through to mid December
• Spring/Summer - First Friday in January through to the last Friday in July.

Please note: the club also does not meet on good Friday.

In addition to the clubs busy social calendar the club organises and runs two annual competitions. These are the Nottingham Open and the Cornhill Cup steam foil team competition. More information and details on how to enter these can be found in the competitions section of our website.
