D-Nome is democratizing molecular diagnostics with deviceless PCR technology.
Started in July 2021 by Divya Sriram and Sujoy Deb, Ph.D. to build rapid point-of-care diagnostics and other applications. biology.
“Our mission is to close the testing gap and enable large-scale personalized medicine, but we have not been successful due to the lack of scalable and accurate diagnostic tools. We hope to have a major social and economic impact and pave the way for the next generation of healthcare, which relies heavily on genomics.”
There are currently three main methods of inspection. Routine cultures that are time consuming and require infrastructure, rapid antigen/antibody tests that are rapid but lack accuracy, and PCR/real-time PCR (RT-PCR) testing, the gold standard of testing. Accurate, but costly and requires a skilled workforce.
