The Department of Energy’s Office of Science is seeking industry input on a new program aimed at developing new approaches to accelerate innovation in artificial intelligence, autonomy, advanced manufacturing, and other emerging technologies that support clean energy development. I am looking for
DOE will bring together scientists and engineers from national laboratories, industry and academia to help transform early-stage research into marketable technologies, according to a notice published in the Federal Register on Tuesday. He says he wants to form an interdisciplinary team.
This research initiative will focus on key areas of DOE interest, including AI, advanced nuclear technology, advanced manufacturing, data storage, cybersecurity, and quantum information science.
DOE aims to bridge the gap between the technology research stage and the commercialization stage, advancing ideas on the innovation continuum.
“Bridging these gaps requires a holistic approach that closely integrates fundamental scientific and engineering research across multiple disciplines with applied and industrial activities to ensure innovation reaches the market. We need an “end-to-end” approach,” said the Information Notice request.
The deadline for responses is December 23rd.
