Former Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer will join Deion Sanders’ staff in Colorado.
Coach Prime confirmed the move during an interview pregame show Earlier this week.
Zimmer previously served as an analyst for Sanders at Jackson State University in 2022. Former Florida head coach Willie Taggart is also heading to Colorado as part of the Sanders staff.
“By the way, Taggart is coming too,” Sanders said in an interview. No, forget the title, they know this game, they know kids, and they were able to make tremendous decisions with kids and young men in mind. What I admire most is understanding how to establish relationships with these young men.”
The football world took to Twitter to react to the news.
“If my kid is a college football player, I’m looking to see if he wants to transfer..it’s legal,” one fan wrote.
“Good for Zim. Only wish him and Prime the best in Colorado. It’ll be fun to see what they make,” said another.
“CU has more head coaching experience than the Broncos staff have in the last seven years.
Zimmer spent eight seasons as the Vikings’ head coach from 2014-2021. Prior to that, he was the defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Dallas Cowboys.
