Endpoints founder John Carroll sat down with Robert Nelsen, managing director of ARCH at JP Morgan, to discuss innovation, what’s being funded, and what’s on the horizon for 2023. This transcript has been edited for brevity and clarity.
John Carroll:
I’m with Bob Nelsen, one of the co-founders of ARCH. Bob and I sometimes talk about his one of the latest crazy ideas he’s invested a huge amount of money into. I wanted to use this as an opportunity to tell him what he was talking about. charming stuff. No big deal, we did a little research, but in 2016 he went back to Matt Herper’s article. In this article, Leroy Hood called you the genius he built companies like Illumina. And you’ve done a wide variety of things. You were talking about joining Alnylam, you were talking about joining Juno, Denali, Vir and Resilience are in the news today. Mubadala is funding a new manufacturing plant in the United Arab Emirates. There are a lot of what I would call very interesting markets, but I wanted to start over. You got your MBA in 1986.
