On Thursday night, the football world was glued to a showdown between the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons.
But they weren’t the only ones making noise. During the match, the football world learned that the legendary coach was leaving the game after the season ended.
No, we’re not talking about the NFL, but this still has serious consequences. Legendary high school football coach Bruce Rawlinson has announced that he will retire after the 2022 season.
“I recently decided that this year will be my last as head coach of Mater Dei Football,” he said in a statement. After 34 years as coach of the year and as head coach, with this decision and the return of the entire starting line-up next year, to continue our winning tradition with the next coach, Mater Dei.”
Mater Dei has seen its field graced by many notable players over the years. Rawlinson has mentored stars like Matt his quarterbacks Reynart, Bryce Young and J.T. Daniels, as well as current Detroit Lions wide receiver Eamon Rahis St. His Browns.
After that, with numerous state titles and national championships, Rawlinson is ready to go.
