Columbus, Mississippi (WCBI) – Staying relevant in a changing world of technology. That is the problem of today’s libraries.
Erin Busbea shared with Lowndes County business and community leaders how the Columbus-Lownds Public Library System is meeting its challenges.
Director of Library Systems, Mr. Busbea, said that today’s libraries are embracing technological change.
You can connect to e-books, e-audio books, etc. Staff are also welcome to bring their own devices to access Wi-Fi for leisure or serious matters such as research or job hunting.
There are plenty of activities that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
And Busbea said you can’t beat the price.
“We are probably one of the only free resources in this town that you can walk into. We don’t expect you to buy anything. I want to show you what we have to offer.I want you to come and go to those programs and check out the books and just sit back and enjoy. We have wi-fi and Because it’s a really comfortable place.
If you want to support the library, you can join Library Friends or go to the monthly book sale.
Busbea invited everyone to come and see what the library had to offer to her staff.
