On Saturday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs started their divisional round showdown against Jacksonville with a lead.
Kansas City held the Jaguars to a three-and-out before gaining the ball for the first time. Patrick Mahomes and his company went straight down the field and connected with star tight end Travis Kelce for a touchdown.
Jacksonville answered quickly with a touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence to wide receiver Christian Kirk. On subsequent possessions, an unfortunate thing happened.
Mahomes fell awkwardly on the tackle and appeared to have sustained a potentially serious knee injury.
After the first quarter ended, Mahomes rushed to the sideline to get his right ankle taped. He came back in the second quarter but now looks like he’s limping badly.
If Mahomes can’t finish this game, it will be a devastating blow to the Chiefs’ offense.
