Lamar Jackson is expected to miss five straight games since suffering a PCL sprain in Week 14.
The superstar quarterback is unlikely to appear in the Ravens’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18.
That said, Jackson is expected to return for the team’s postseason run.
“The Ravens have been told they are confident Lamar Jackson will return to the playoffs,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said. Pat McAfee Shaw Thursday.
The NFL world took to Twitter to react to the news.
“He said one to three weeks ago he was going to play against the ATL, so when I see him practicing or running in the tunnels, I will believe this,” one fan wrote.
“He’s ready when he’s ready. Heal my dog. This is getting overly dramatic,” another person added.
“Hmm, this is positive,” said another.
Some within the league have suggested that Jackson is delaying his return due to impending contract negotiations with the Ravens. Rapoprt said he does not believe Jackson’s injury situation is related to his contract.
Backup Tyler Huntley is expected to make his fifth straight start this weekend.
