Truckee, Calif. — Truckee’s Ryan Williams has come full circle.
The co-founder of local startup Stomp Sessions has announced that the company has been acquired by Outside Interactive, Inc. This is the same brand that featured him in Warren Miller’s movies in the ’90s.
“It’s the perfect combination that allows us to continue what we’re doing and extend the product itself,” Williams said. “It’s exciting to be in this place.”
Since its launch in Truckee in 2016, Stomp Sessions has given users access to professional knowledge, skills and tricks through digital coaching from professional athletes in a variety of sports. Stomp Sessions currently has subscribers in 68 countries and over 100 of his tutorials on skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding and mountain biking. Members have access to all tutorials, including the ability to receive professional digital coaching of your own videos.
The platform’s tutorials and learning tools are integrated with Outside Learn, part of the Outside-Plus membership bundle.

An outside hub for fitness, nutrition and outdoor sports courses, Outside Learn is home to icons such as local mountain biker Kam Zink, surfers Josh Kerr and Brett Simpson, skateboarders Manny Santiago and Amelia Brocca, and snowboarders. Features a co-authored Stomp Sessions course. Brock Crouch and Dave Downing. Stomp Sessions members will continue to have access to educational content on Outside Learn.

As Outside’s new Director of Outside Learn, Williams will lead Outside’s educational programs, produce new content, work with Outside’s cross-functional team, and manage the Learn team of editors, producers and talent managers .
“There’s new content every month, but now it’s not just four sports, it’s 11 sports, and in terms of distribution, it’s great because millions of viewers are watching it. Help more people I’m just there,” Williams said.
Sports include snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, skating, surfing, backpacking, mountaineering, and yoga. Along with other courses on fitness, mapping, nutrition and creation.
Williams is also working with Outside to integrate the popular Stomp coaching tool, which allows users to learn directly from the pros and share their own content. Those subscribing to Stomp Sessions were offering a new Outside+ membership. All Stomp Sessions content will be posted on Outside Learn.
On Monday, Outside Learn will release a Learn How to Freeski video with Connery Lundin recently featured in the latest Warren Miller movie Daymaker. Cinematographer Christ Patterson shot his Lundin segment in “Daymaker,” and over 20 years ago he also shot Williams.
