Skyassist, a startup founded in March 2022, has created a serial Sirko reconnaissance drone and has four more products in the works.
“First, the most urgent needs of the front line were determined. A technical task was formed: it was necessary to develop an unobtrusive (radio-transparent) UAV of minimal size and ease of use, capable of carrying out aerial reconnaissance and operating at depths of up to 25-30 km We need to fix the shooting, and at the same time the product cost has to be the lowest in its class.” Co-founder Igor Krinichko told vctr.media.
He added that the device flies over enemy positions in complete silence and without radiation. A video recording is made of everything the drone “sees” during the mission.
The third version of the UAV, the Sirko, has entered mass production. It has the following features:
- Wingspan – 0.9 m.
- Weight – 1.5kg.
- Working height – 200 – 300 m.
- Flight time – 50 – 70 minutes.
- Routes can be up to 100 km long.
- Video communication with the operator – up to 30 km.
- Temperature regime – from -20°C to +45°C.
“Sirko can fly up to 1000-1200 km. But we chose a practical one: 200 – 300 meters. You can use lightweight optics while maintaining quality, and thanks to him, you can work in thick clouds: the device flies under them and maintains stealth. ” says the developer.
Among other advantages of the drone, the developers call low noise – thanks to the electric motor, the drone is almost inaudible at operating heights, radio invisibility – the drone is made of polymer radiolucent materials 25km video link, silent mode – can conduct reconnaissance without radiation.
The drone costs $3,000 and $4,000 with a ground station. They invested in the project both with their own money and with friends from America, Estonia, Ukraine and others. The total investment is about 5 million UAH.
Skyassist is currently focused on completing test documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The company is looking at the possibility of attracting investment to scale up production. Importing electronic components requires the most additional funds.
At least $400,000 is needed to meet the plan for 400 drones. The company will finance part of it on its own. However, once we raise about $200,000, mass buying of parts will speed up production significantly.
