WREXHAM AFC topped Twitter’s trending topics section in the US at one point on Sunday (January 29) on a memorable FA Cup evening.
The Reds drew 3-3 with championship clubs Sheffield United in a thrilling match on the racetrack.
The match was broadcast on BBC in the UK and ESPN in the US and was revealed to be a hit with American fans.
The acquisition of Wrexham AFC by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElehenny, coupled with the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, has had an amazing effect on boosting the club’s reputation around the world.
They have helped attract new supporters and have sold over 24,000 shirts so far this season.
On Sunday night, ‘Wrexham’ was the number one trending topic on Twitter in the US, once again demonstrating the club’s growing popularity.

Wrexham co-chairman Ryan Reynolds was at the racecourse to watch the game unfold against Sheffield United.
Meanwhile, club co-owner Rob McElhenney was rooting for the Reds from the parking lot of Philadelphia Eagles Lincoln Financial Field Stadium.
This came ahead of an NFC Championship clash with the San Francisco 49ers, which the Eagles won 31-7.
Wrexham will face a replay with Sheffield United for a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup. His home tie against Premier League powerhouses Tottenham Hotspur awaits the winner.
